The Artist:

Brandon Maldonado was born in Denver, Colorado in 1980. When he was 6 years old his family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where the artist grew up. The culturally rich environment made a lasting impact on Maldonado's work which often explores themes associate with Mexican culture. Though primarily a self taught artist, he holds a bachelors degree from the College of Santa Fe in Humanities with an emphasis on Philosophy & Religion. Brandon has been creating Dia de los Muertos themed images for over a decade and a half. His image "Our Lady of Merciful Fate" was featured on the album cover of the platinum selling Zac Brown Band's 2012 number #1 Billboard charting, grammy winning release "Uncaged."
